Minoxidil and dexamethasone eluting nanofiber dressing for cutaneous wound healing in rat

چکیده
Background: Minoxidil is an antihypertensive agent and vasodilator which may help to promote local blood flow thus hastening the closure of excisional skin wounds. Corticosteroids down-regulate wound healing. This work aims develop characterize nanofiber-eluting dexamethasone minoxidil investigate their effect on healing in a rat model. Methods: dexamethasone-loaded dressings were developed characterized with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). In vitro, drug release studies performed for 12 days. To model wound-healing activity formulations, wounds created dorsal section male rats. Results: All electrospun dressing nanofibers displayed smooth structures surfaces without crystals. Histological results Hematoxylin & Eosin Masson’s trichrome staining indicate suppression dexamethasone-treated group good minoxidil-treated group. Here we identified that application topical can be effective probably driven by anagen hair growth while suppresses collagen production prevents scar formation. Conclusion: The findings suggest this potentially as new treatment modality clinic accelerate preventing

The evolution of surgical dressings is traced from 1600 B.C. to A.D. 1944. The availability of an increasing variety of man-made fibres and films from 1944 onwards has stimulated work on wound dressings, and some of the more important contributions, both clinical and experimental, are discussed. The functions of a wound dressing and the properties which the ideal wound dressing should possess a...
متن کاملEffects of Minoxidil Gel on Burn Wound Healing in Rats
Background: Minoxidil has been reported to inhibit in vitro fibroblast proliferation and lysyl hydroxylase activity, a key enzyme in collagen biosynthesis. These in-vitro effects proposed minoxidil to be a potential antifibrotic agent. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of minoxidil gel on wound healing procedure in a second-degree burn model in rats. Materials and methods: Wis...

متن کاملEffect of Wound Dressing with Fresh Kiwifruit on healing of Cutaneous Wound in Rats
Background: The kiwi fruit is known to have dramatic antibacterial, debridement, wound contracture, and angiogenic effects. We propose that kiwifruit is an ideal candidate to enhance the process of wound healing. The present study assessed the effects of wound kiwifruit dressing on cutaneous wound healing in rat. Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, 30 male Wistar rats were random...
